I have to take exception to the attempt to paint Mr. Watkins with the old Bush administration brush simply because he is running as a Republican candidate.
Don’t judge someone without listening to what they have to say first.
I was at the presentation Mr. Watkins gave to the BIRW (Bainbridge Island Republican Women) and I can tell you he has good solid ideas and a new voice separate from standard political party lines. He spoke at great length on helping small businesses thrive and grow as the way to job creation, not tax cuts.
He is not big business… he is a small business advocate. He thinks the mom and pop businesses in our communities are the heart of this country and individual entrepreneurs are the way back to economic growth.
He does not think government should be in the business of taking over or bailing out big business but regulating and enforcing as needed to keep opportunity availiable for all competitors.
I urge you to listen to what he has to say. Visit his Web site and blogs or email him directly with questions; www. WatkinsForCongress.com or James@WatkinsForCongress.com.
