Evergreen Singers get a kick out of sharing | Letters | Aug. 28

In her recent Review column (“We’re not as nutty as you might think,” July 31), Marcia Rudoff was apt in her assessment of the Bainbridge Island Senior Center. There are many reasons for its vital, engaged, involved atmosphere. She cites Bob Leik’s nail-on-the-head lyrics and song about the center – music that has been a staple of the Evergreen Singers’ repertoire for years.

Those of us who sing with the Evergreen Singers think we know the secret of the Fountain of Youth: Keep on singing! The bond among singers, the joy we create in our monthly informal concerts at Messenger House and Island Rehab, plus the thrill of getting difficult music just right for a performance, are all like elixirs.

Continuing thanks to this exceptional Senior Center for supporting chorus director Charlene Moore and the Evergreen bunch.

P.S.: We are looking for a few good altos…
