Free coaching for a year on a bike | Letters | April 3

As a long-time resident – and cyclist – of Bainbridge Island, I have seen, with pleasure, the increase in island commuters who turn to cycling as their main mode of transport.
It’s yet another thing that makes Bainbridge the great place that it is.
So, I would like to issue a challenge. Give up your car for one year, and I’ll coach you free of charge during that year.
To someone who commits to a year of life on the bike, I’ll reciprocate with a year of free coaching.
We’ll learn the basics – how to navigate the ferry traffic, commute to work, go grocery shopping – and share in one on one coaching on the road, and in the gym.
This isn’t for everyone, just one person. It’ll be a fun year.
The rewards to us all are enormous, including, of course, getting into the best shape of your life.
Interested? Apply at Island Fitness by May 1.
