The Bainbridge High School varsity football team was bested 42-21 tonight in their first outing of the year by the visiting North Kitsap Vikings in a non-conference matchup.

The Vikings led for most of the game, with the Spartans managing several comeback bursts throughout the contest, before a nearly packed stadium (despite the first day of school still being days away).

It was a second year in a row for North Kitsap to open the season with a win against Bainbridge.
