This week in Spartan Sports

This week in Spartan sports kicks off with Bainbridge visiting Chief Sealth in Seattle on Monday, Sept. 18 for junior varsity and C-Team football games against the Seahawks.

Both games have a 4:30 p.m. start at the Southwest Athletic Complex.

Also Monday, the Spartan girls and boys varsity golf teams welcome Holy Names Academy and O’Dea to Wing Point Golf Course, respectively. Play gets underway at 3:30 p.m.

The Bainbridge volleyball teams will catch the boat for a long road trip to Sammamish to play Eastside Catholic. The JV and C-Team matches are at 4:30 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6 p.m.

On Tuesday, Sept. 19, the BHS duffers return to action in Seattle to battle Bishop Blanchet in girls and boys varsity golf. Play at the Jefferson Park Golf Course starts at 3:30 p.m.

There’s no place like home, however, for the Spartan girls soccer team. BHS faces Lakeside in a much anticipated matchup at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday at Bainbridge’s Memorial Stadium. Note: Game time has been moved up from 7 p.m. due to the open house Tuesday evening at BHS.

The JV soccer girls will also play Lakeside, but on the road in Seattle. That match has a 4 p.m. start.

The Spartan boys water polo team will also be off the Rock on Tuesday for a contest against South Kitsap. Game time is 4 p.m.

On Wednesday, Sept. 20, the Spartan volleyball teams return to Paski Gymnasium to play Bishop Blanchet. JV and C-Team action is at 4:30, followed by the varsity matchup at 6 p.m.

On Thursday, the BHS cross country team opens its regular season by visiting Seattle for a meet hosted by Garfield. The girls race is at 3:40, followed by the boys at 4:20 p.m.

The Spartans return for their second home game of the week in girls varsity soccer with a visit by West Seattle. The C-Team will start the night off at 5:15 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 7 p.m. The JV team will play Westside on the road, in a match with a 4 p.m. start.

On Friday, Sept. 22, the BHS girls swimming and diving team will race against Lakeside at Meadowbrook Pool in Seattle. Races start at 4 p.m.

The Spartan gridders will hit the road for a varsity football game Friday against Ingraham. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at the North West Athletic Complex.

This week in Spartan sports will see action again on Saturday.

The BHS boys and girls cross country runners will compete in the Bellevue Invitational at Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah. The invitational starts at 9:30 a.m.

Also Saturday, the Spartan girls swimmers will race in the Mukilteo Invite, which starts at 9 a.m. in the familiar waters of the King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way.
