Speedy Spartans notch state times against HNA, Port Angeles

The Spartans strung together back-to-back home wins against Holy Names Academy and Port Angeles last week in girls varsity swimming & diving.

The big wins set the stage for Senior Night, the Spartans’ last home meet of the season, on Friday, Oct. 18 at the Bainbridge Aquatic Center.

Bainbridge eclipsed HNA 119-66.

The Spartans won 10 of 11 races, and also finished first in 1-meter diving. In five races against the Cougars, Spartan swimmers notched state-qualifying times for this year’s 3A championships in Federal Way.

The fantastic foursome of Eden Michael, Emma Solseng, Moorea Eldon-Everts and Xaveria Rodriguez won the first race of the meet, the 200-yard medley relay, with a state qualifying time of 1:54.95. The 3A state mark is 1:56.00.
