Spartans sweep Trojans in golf matches

The Bainbridge boys golf team swept Olympic March 29 to keep their unbeaten streak alive.

The Spartan girls also won 184-226.

The Spartan boys defeated the Trojans 156-222. Although only the top four golfers are scored, every Spartan shot better than their opponent.

Dane Byers led the pack with a 36 after nine holes, finishing at even par. Andrew Jobes was placed in the No. 4 spot in the Spartan lineup, but he surprised, finishing second overall with a 39. Ryan Sturham snuck into the top four after being ranked fifth in the lineup with a 41. Rylan Libes followed right behind with a 42.

The Spartans second-ranked golfer, Andrew Grinter, ended up with a 44, and sixth-ranked golfer, Erik Farley, scored a 54.

Olympic’s top golfer was Noah Shaw. He came in as the third golfer in Olympic’s lineup and finished with a 51.

Isaac Campbell and CJ Fautino followed a few strokes back with a 56 and 57. Dylan Williams shot a 58, while Tristan Bluitt and Kekoa Lyons rounded out the Trojan scoring with a 60 and a 65.

For the girls, Elise Walters led the Spartans with a 39, three over par. Sara Kriegh and Grace Charintranont followed with a 42 and 45. Clarice Telschow shot a 58.

Olympic’s Abby Gessell led the Trojans with a 53. Ava Hart and Bailey Winderl finished right behind with a 55 and 56. The final Trojan was Kiyomi McKenzie with a 62.
