Spartans stopped short by Franklin in boys soccer

SEATTLE – A seeming turnaround by the Bainbridge High varsity boys soccer team was stopped short by Franklin Friday, April 20, as the island squad was bested 3-2.

The Spartans had appeared on the verge of mixing up some mojo, distancing themselves from a five-game losing streak with first at tie, April 13, then an epic win against Cleveland, April 18.

Alas, it was not to be, and the loss left them with an overall season record of 4-7-1 (3-7-1 in conference) and ranked ninth in the Metro standings.

They remained on the road next, playing Nathan Hale Monday, and will next play at home, for the final home match of the regular season, at 6 p.m. Friday, April 27 against Ballard.
