The Bainbridge High final varsity football home game of the season came to a disappointing end — following an inspiring mid-game rally by the Spartans — when the teams was ultimately defeated by Hazen High with a final score of 49-35 Friday.

BHS was on the losing end of a 35-7 score at the end of the first half, but managed a return to play that was nothing short of impressive.

The defense managed to keep the Hazen team from gaining any more ground as the Spartan offensive scored the first and only touchdown of the third quarter followed by three more touchdowns in the final stanza.

It was arguably the best Spartan game of the season so far.

The Spartans play their next game at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 against O’Dea High at West Seattle Stadium.
