Spartans advance to Regionals

BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge Spartans have advanced to regional play in girls varsity water polo.

The Spartans finished the regular season at the top of the Metro, with a 5-3 record (6-5 overall).

The Spartans dive into postseason play Friday, May 18 at the Puget Sound League’s regional tournament at Curtis High in Tacoma.

Bainbridge will play Auburn in their first game in the Region 1 tourney, at 3 p.m. Friday at Curtis High.

The winner of that match will face the winner of the South Kitsap/Auburn-Mountainview matchup at 8 p.m. Friday. The loser of the Bainbridge-Auburn contest will play again at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 19 against the loser of the of the South Kitsap/Auburn-Mountainview game.

The top four teams from regional play will advance to the state tournament, which will also be hosted by Curtis High, the following weekend.
