Spartan of the Week | Ginger Jensen

This week’s Spartan of the Week is Bainbridge High’s Ginger Jensen (ninth grade C-team volleyball).

The Spartans say:

Ginger consistently has a positive attitude. She anticipates the needs of those around her and jumps in to help her teammates and coaches without prompting. Ginger goes above and beyond to be a good sport (e.g. the first to shag volleyballs in between drills, etc). She is a great example of sportsmanship for her teammates and was elected by her teammates as one of the two team co-captains.

She is hardworking, approachable and communicative while being encouraging and supportive of her teammates. She a good listener and respectful of her coach and her teammates. She simply is an inspiration to both her teammates and her coach.

Coach Sonia Hanson says, “I personally find her resiliency and positivity motivational and can see the humble yet powerful impact she makes on all those who are lucky enough to interact with her. It’s an honor to nominate Ginger for the Spartan of the Week award. I am proud to be her coach!”

BHS Athletics strives to unite mind and body to create an experience that remains with the student athlete throughout a lifetime. The BHS athletic program focuses on nourishing and supporting student-athletes in areas that extend beyond the classroom experience: character, competition, participation, partnership. Each week, BHS will showcase a Spartan who embodies these values in some way.
