Second All-Comers Track Meet sees speedy stats

The first big winner of the second Kiwanis All-Comers Track Meet at Bainbridge High School Monday, July 16 was Aidan Hefferman, 8, who took first place in the jogger’s mile event by finishing just half a second over his predicted (and very fast) 6:59, while Silas and Alex Frank tied for second (three seconds off).

Alexa Douthard, 10, was the meet’s outstanding girl, winning five events plus running on a 4×100 relay team.

On the boys side, Howard Howlett, 10, again dominated, winning six events, including a leg on the first-place 4×100 relay team.

His prominence, however, was challenged by 6-year-old Christopher Bourgeois, who won all five events he entered, including a 3-second win over two older boys in the 200-meter dash.

The weekly free community track meets, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Bainbridge Island, will continue next Monday at the high school track. Arrive before 6:15 p.m. to sign in. The first event begins at 6:30 p.m.
