Rainier Beach bests BHS boys, girls in basketball doubleheader

The visitors from Rainier Beach defeated both the girls and boys varsity basketball teams in a disappointing doubleheader at Bainbridge High Friday, Jan. 10.

First, the girls were bested 52-35, dropping the island squad’s overall season record to 6-7 (4-5 in league play).

They are ranked ninth in the Metro standings.

Then, the boys found themselves on the wrong side of a 52-40 final score, leaving them with an overall season record of 5-8 (3-6 in conference).

They are ranked eighth in the Metro standings.

The Spartans have just two more home games on the regular season schedule, both doubleheaders. The first, against Ingraham, begins at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, and the second, against Lincoln, starts at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4.
