Lions’ offense overwhelms BHS

The Lakeside Lions struck a sour note for the Spartans on Senior Night.

Three times, as a matter of fact.

The Lions unleashed an ample offense to stop the Spartans 3-1 in girls varsity soccer Tuesday at Bainbridge High’s Memorial Stadium.

The Spartans’ sole goal came on a penalty kick in the last 30 seconds of the game.

Bainbridge’s Svetlana Maguire nailed the sensational shot.

“As far as I can tell, it’s the first time we’ve scored against Lakeside (at least in the last three years),” noted Spartan Coach Katie Drovdahl.

The Spartans were scheduled to play Eastside Catholic late this week in Sammamish for the last game of the regular season.
