There is only one High Point winner per age group, said Dana Gosney, who has been associated with BISC for four years. Having three High Point winners from a single team is a significant achievement.Several BISC records were broken at the same meet. On his way to High Point Swimmer, Gosney established new team standards in the 400 meter (5:45.67), 800 meter (12:04.85) and 1500 meter (22:33.53) freestyle events. Jeffrey Reeves set a new boys 11-12 record for the 400 meter individual medley (6:14.31), while his brother Mikal Reeves swam his way to a new boys 13-14 record in the 800 meter freestyle (10:54.18). Mikal’s new record breaks a mark that has been on the BISC books since 1982.The meet drew swimmers from Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Alaska and Canada.In other swimming news:* Emily Silver broke the BISC 50 meter freestyle record while posting a personal best time of 27.11 at the Janet Evans Invitational, held at the University of Southern California July 21-22. Emily also established a new BISC standard for the 100 meter freestyle with a time of 58.87. The Janet Evans Invitational is a part of the USA Swimming Grand Prix Series, with many of the fastest swimmers in the country participating.* Sarah Gleason broke the BISC girls 800 meter freestyle record at the Senior Seattle Open on July 14, posting a time of 9:50.97. Sarah also broke the BISC 1500 freestyle mark with a time of 18:46.58. “
