Football Roundup: Week 3

North Mason at North Kitsap, postponed.

This game was postponed due to continuing COVID-19 issues at North Mason. North Kitsap will play Port Angeles on the road Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Bremerton 50, Kingston 0

It was all Knights in this one as they racked up 478 rushing yards in a 50-0 win over the Bucs. Leading the way was Jhunior Aquino, who had 206 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries. Romen Sorensen also eclipsed the 100-yard mark, rushing for 139 yards and two TDs. Jakobi Serrato added a sixth rushing score for Bremerton, and Junior Newman scored two punt return touchdowns.

Next game: Kingston: Sept. 25, 1:30 p.m. at North Mason. Bremerton: Sept. 24, 6:30 p.m. at Olympic.

Central Kitsap 35, Capital 14

Central Kitsap roared out to a 21-0 first-quarter lead against Capital and held on the rest of the way in its first South Sound Conference game of the season. Kouper Hall scored two rushing touchdowns, and Kalai Pasi hit receiver Charlie Guy for a 51-yard score. Hall finished the game with 168 yards on 31 attempts and four touchdowns, and Pasi completed 11-of-20 passes for 187 yards.

Next game: Sept. 24, 7 p.m. vs. Gig Harbor.

Rogers 57, South Kitsap 14

Wolves quarterback Mason Elena threw a pair of touchdown passes, but those were among the few bright spots in South Kitsap’s 57-14 loss to Rogers. Brayden Skovald and Nathan Ericson were on the receiving end of those aerial strikes as Elena finished the game with 166 passing yards and 42 rushing yards, leading his team in both categories.

Next game: Sept. 16, 7 p.m. vs. Sumner.

King’s 63, Klahowya 0

The Eagles were off to a 2-0 start this year, but had a rough time with Kings, a 1A private school, which scored 56 of its points in the first quarter. Fortunately, this was a non-league game, and Klahowya should rebound well next week in its first Nisqually League game at home.

Next game: Sept. 24, 6:30 p.m. vs. East Jefferson.
