Many Kitsap athletes performed well at the 2A/3A/4A state track and field championships at Mount Tahoma High School May 29-31, with some winning events and others earning high finishes.
As a team, the Bremerton boys did the best, placing fourth at state with a score of 42 points.
Individual results:
– Bremerton Knight Isaiah Cadengo placed first overall in the boys 400 meters event, earning a time of 47.30, breaking the West Sound record previously held by Michael Thomas of Central Kitsap in 2013 (47.83) He also placed second overall in the 200M event, earning a time of 21.68, and placed fourth in the 100M event.
– The Bremerton team of Cadengo, Dallin Anderson, Joshua Leuders and Hawkin Ernst placed first overall in the boys 4×400 relay event, earning a time of 3:19.31.
– Bremerton Knight Rylee Wheaton won the girls shot put title with a throw of 41’9.75”.
– South Kitsap runner Isaac Benjamin placed second overall in the boys 3200M event, earning a time of 8:58.35.
– SK runner Cheyenne Barker finished second in the girls 400M event with a time of 56.22.
– Central Kitsap Cougar Zach Voss finished second in the boys 800M event with a time of 1:51.41.
– Bainbridge Spartans Spark Shou and Jonas Michael placed second and third, respectively, in the boys pole vault event. Shou earned a score of 15’0” and Michael earned a score of 14’6”.
– SK runner Josiah Blunt Robinson placed third overall in the boys 200M event, earning a time of 21.62. He also placed fourth in the 100M event with a time of 10.82.
– CK Cougar Taylor Palmer placed third overall in the girls 3200M event, earning a time of 10:49.46.
– Bremerton Knight Anderson placed third overall in the boys 800M event, earning a time of 1:55.11.
– Bainbridge Spartan Cate Torrell placed third overall in the girls 200M event, earning a time of 25.41.
– Bainbridge Spartan Ignacio Llorens placed fifth overall in the boys 800M event, earning a time of 1:56.72.
– North Kitsap Viking Bella Johnston cleared 10 feet in the girls pole vault event to place fifth.
