Bishop Blanchet earned a 57-22 win against the Bainbridge High School varsity wrestling squad Monday, Jan. 13 in Seattle.
It was the island squad’s first match in the wake of the annual Bainbridge-based Island Invitational tournament.
Forfeits negated seven matches between BHS and Blanchet.
In the 106-pound contest, BHS’ Garrett Swanson pinned Joshua Davis in 39 seconds.
Bainbridge’s Harrison Cate received a bye in the 120-pound slot.
Then, 126-pound Spartan Levi Field-Bennett pinned his opponent (name not recorded) in 2:50.
Blanchet’s Wyatt Shull pinned Asher Lane (132 pounds) in 3:20.
Quentin Ikuse took down Blanchet’s Luca Sburlino in a 15-3 decision in the 138-pound bracket.
Gabriel Rochefort took down Bainbridge brawler Beck Gibson 8-6 in the 152-pound bracket.
Bainbridge heavyweight Wyatt Goad (182 pounds) was pinned in 3:40 by Blanchet’s Jackson Enquist.
The BHS squad returned home to host their final match in Paski Gymnasium Thursday, Jan. 23. Results were unavailable when the Review went to press.
