BAINBRIDGE – Bainbridge High School will provide a bus for Spartans sports fans looking to hitch a ride to the boys varsity lacrosse semifinals Wednesday.

The Division I semifinal field features Bainbridge, the No. 2 Metro Conference seed, visiting the No. 1 KingCo seed Bellevue for a 7:30 p.m. start at Bellevue High School Wednesday, May 25.

Riders should meet in the lower parking lot at 5 p.m.; the bus is expected to return on either the 9 or 10:05 p.m. ferry from Seattle. The cost to ride along is $10 per person – with no charge for the ferry.

To reach the semifinal round, Bellevue rolled past O’Dea in the quarterfinals 14–1, ousting the Irish from state competition. The win was the fourth straight and 13th of the past 14 for the Wolverines.

On its way to the final four Division I teams in the state, Bainbridge recorded its third consecutive win with a 14–9 state lacrosse quarterfinal defeat of Skyline. It was the sixth win in the last eight starts for the Spartans, who have now won 15 games this year.

The Spartans are led by attackmen Ben Biggers and Merrit McMahon.

Biggers, a senior, has 33 goals and 22 assists for 55 total points – along with 24 ground balls in 14 games this season. McMahon is a freshman. He has 33 goals and 11 assists for 44 total points in this, his rookie season, along with 40 ground balls in 15 games.

It’s the first meeting between the Spartans and Wolverines this season. In 2015, the two met in the opening game of the season with the Wolverines stealing the win during Bainbridge’s home opener, 9–6.
