The Bainbridge Spartans battled to a 1-1 tie against North Kitsap in the season opener for the girls varsity soccer team Saturday.

Bainbridge’s Lindsay Franznick scored the Spartans’ sole goal, with an assist from fellow senior Anika Lesko.

In other soccer action this weekend, the BHS junior varsity team also finished with a tie — though scoreless — against the North Kitsap JV squad.
