BHS girls score year’s first basketball win

POULSBO – Third time proved the charm for the Bainbridge High girls varsity basketball team Saturday when they claimed a 63-58 win against North Kitsap High, their first win and third game of the year.

The win was too close for comfort at times, said BHS Head Coach Henry Guterson, but the home crowd saw stellar performances from a slew of Spartans.

“Grace Carson had 11 points and eight rebounds,” he said. “Olivia Wikstrom went for 20 points. Taylor Tye had 14 points with four [three-pointers]. Kiera Havill had 11 points, four steals and seven rebounds. Kendall Havill had five points and six assists.”

The win brought the Sparatns’ season record to 1-2.

They next returned home to host Garfield High on Wednesday, Dec. 7. Results were unavailable when the Review went to press.
