Bainbridge works through tough double match

SEATTLE – A loss and a tie were what the Bainbridge High School varsity wrestling team returned home with Thursday, Jan. 25, from a double match against Ingraham and Nathan Hale at Nathan Hale High School.

Against Ingraham, the Spartans were bested 37-30, and claimed just five wins.

Cameron Williams (120-pounds) and oug Takada(145) won by forfeit. Hiram Topham (106) pinned Ingraham’s Julian Collins in 5:23, 160-pound team captain Nate Michaels pinned Joe Lauder in 2:54, and Stephen Reinhardt (170) pinned Nahem Sellase in 37 seconds.

Against their host, the Spartans matched the Huskies 18-all.

Bainbridge claimed four wins, only one by forfeit.

Cameron Williams (120-pounds) won a 7-5 decision against Emmett Donnelly; 138-pound team co-captain Oleg Maguire pinned Dominic Apichai in 2:51; and senior Nate Michaels (160) claimed a 17-11 decision win against Patrick McGough.

Bainbridge boasts an overall season record of 6-5, and the third-place spot in the Metro standings.
