The Bainbridge Island Sportsmen’s Club is hosting the annual Huck Finn and Becky Thatcher Fishing Derby later this month at the club.

The derby is set for 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 27 and is a free event for kids 14 and under. No license is required for the young anglers.

The Bainbridge Island Sportsmen’s Club is celebrating its 90th anniversary on the island this year.

Club officials note that the archery range is also having an open house for all ages at the same time and date. Youngsters are welcome to come by, handle a bow and learn about archery.

A pancake breakfast will be held before the fishing derby and archery open house, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. April 27.
