Bainbridge gymnasts vault past NK’s Vikings

The Bainbridge High School girls gymnastics team picked up another Olympic League victory, but the win wasn’t as easy as its others.

The Spartans just got by the North Kitsap Vikings 152-138.95. Central Kitsap scored 16.25 points.

Bainbridge co-captain Avery Gray won two events and won the all-around with 33.85 total points in all four events.

She took the uneven parallel bars with a score of 7.95 from the judge. The junior also won the floor exercise with a score of 9.25.

Spartan freshman Jade Bereman also won two events.

She scored an 8.4 in the vault, and an 8.45 on the balance beam.

Avery placed second in the balance beam with a tally of 8.4. She was third in the vault with an 8.25.

Jade also finished second in the floor with a 9.15 score.

Grace Reeb was the only other Spartan to finish in the top three.

She was third in the bars with a 7.5, and third in the floor with an 8.9.

Leading North Kitsap was Viking captain junior Jordyn Lovett.

She placed second in the vault with a score of 8.35 and third in the beam with a tally of 8.2

Sophomore Skylar MacDonald led Central Kitsap, placing second in the bars with a 7.65 score.

North Kitsap is at Bainbridge Jan. 22. The Vikings last home meet is Jan. 29.
