Bainbridge gymnasts beat Kingston

The Bainbridge High School girls gymnastics team picked up another Olympic League victory Jan. 7, this one over Kingston 155.1 to 86.3.

Junior co-captain Avery Gray was the all-around champion with 34.05 points. Freshman Jade Bereman was second with 32.85, and Elizabeth Olliffee, another junior co-captain, was third with 29.95 points. Shawna Smith was fourth at 24.7.

Elli Falen and Fiona Schmid of Kingston placed fifth and sixth with 23.05 and 21.3 points.

In the individual events, Gray won both the balance beam with a 9.0 score and uneven parallel bars with a score of 8.2. The Spartans swept the bars with Grace Reeb second at 8.0, Beremanm third at 7.1, Kate Hansen fourth at 6.0, Olliffe fifth at 5.8 and Sydney Oswald sixth at 5.75.

BHS almost swept the beam, but Buc Falen was sixth at 6.5. Bereman was second at 8.6, Olliffe third at 8.0, Elizabeth Pickle fourth at 7.3 and Hansen fifth at 7.1.

Bereman won the other two events – getting an 8.25 score in winning the vault and 8.9 in taking the floor exercise.

Gray was second in both events, with an 8.1 in the vault and 8.75 in the floor.

BHS swept both of those events with Phare Dietrich third in the vault at 8.05, Olliffe fourth at 7.65, Hansen fifth at 7.4 and Smith sixth with a 7.3.

Reeb placed third the floor with a score of 8.25, Olliffe was fourth at 7.5, Deitrich fifth at 7.15 and Smith sixth at 7.0.
