Bainbridge earns big win over HNA

Bainbridge edged Holy Names Academy and triumphed over Nathan Hale and Chief Sealth as the varsity girls gymnastic team returned to action late last week.

The Spartans placed first in the home meet with 163.850 total points.

Holy Names finished with 163.300, while Nathan Hale in third with 134.100, and Chief Sealth following in fourth with 73.850.

Bainbridge took first place in three events; the vault, balance beam and floor exercise.

Kegan Daniels won the vault with a score of 8.5. The Spartans’ Mariko Ronan was second, earning a score of 8.450.

Lina Klinkenberg placed fifth (8.3), while Katharine Cooper finished in a three-way tie for sixth place (8.1) with Cait Mcneil and Lauren Salerno of HNA.

Holy Names dominated on bars, taking first and second place. Cooper collected third place for Bainbridge with a score of 8.850, followed by Ronan (8.4) in fourth and Daniels (8.3) in fifth.

Cooper placed first on beam, with a score of 9.0.

Ronan was second in the event with a score of 8.550. Klinkenberg was fifth (8.2) while Elizabeth Olliffe was sixth for Bainbridge (8.150).

Ronan won the floor exercise with an impressive 9.3. Daniels claimed the sixth spot, with a score of 8.5

HNA’s Mcneil was the meet’s all-around champ, with a total score of 34.850.

Ronan was second in the all around, with 34.700. Cooper was third with a total score of 34.300.

Daniels finished in a fourth-place tie (32.750) with Sophia Goodman of Nathan Hale.
