The Spartans won 10 of 11 races — and finished first in diving, as well — as Bainbridge upended Eastside Catholic in boys varsity swimming & diving late last week at the Bainbridge Aquatic Center.

Bainbridge outscored EC 128-51.

The Spartan foursome of Ian Lipton, Max Eyrich, Ben Chapman and Ben Cohen cruised to the first win of the meeting, with a 1:46.29 victory in the 200-yard medley relay.

Bainbridge went one-two-three in the next race, with Chapman placing first in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:52.97, followed by teammates Mitchell Bell (1:59.61) in second, and Jack Williams (2:03.99) in third.

Lipton also placed first in the 200-yard IM (2:06.07).

The Spartans also swept the top three spots in the 50-yard freestyle. Ingalls was first (22.59), followed by Oskar Bannister (24.49) and Harrison Villella (24.95).

Brian Taylor won the 1-meter diving event for Bainbridge, with a score of 227.90.

Ben Cohen placed first in the 100-yard butterfly (58.19), and Chapman had another first in the 500-yard freestyle, with a state-qualifying time of 4:54.86.

The Spartan team of Eyrich, Cohen, Bannister and Ingalls won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:34.46.

Lipton was also first in the 100-yard backstroke, easily winning in 55.41.

Carter Hall touched the wall first for a win in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.88).

The Spartans closed out the meet with a dominating win in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Ingalls, Lipton, Chapman and Bannister sealed the win with a time of 3:28.19.
