Bainbridge boys bested in golf debut

The Bainbridge High varsity boys golf team was defeated 112-104 by Bishop Blanchet in their first outing of the year Thursday, Sept. 6 in Seattle.

It was, BHS Head Coach Dominic Lacie said, a “tough loss.”

“Not a great playing day from our boys,” he admitted.

Juniors Jasiah George and Zach Cooper were the highest scoring Spartan of the day (20 points each). It was the best score of the day, though two Blanchet golfers also notched 20 points apiece.

Parker Loverich managed 19 points for BHS.

Jack Rector, Ben Chapman and Camden Schelbert each put up 15, the next best Spartan score.

The island squad played their first home match Monday. They will next play at Wing Point Golf & Country Club at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, against Ingraham.
