Bainbridge boys best Ravens 16-5 in water polo

The Spartans sent the Ravens home to roost with nothing to crow about Friday, Sept. 20 after the Bainbridge High School varsity boys water polo team roared to an epic 16-5 win against the visitors from Auburn Riverside.

Technically a non-league match, it was the Spartans’ fifth outing of the year and improved their overall record to 4-1.

Nate Lapin, Harrison Villella and Gabe Nathan scored three goals apiece for Big Blue.

Oskar Bannister managed two goals, and Marshall Whittlesey, David Burton, Jacques Defawe, Guy Weibel and Eamon Greathouse each put chipped in one for the Spartans.

The BHS JV squad likewise blasted through the Ravens 18-1, making a Spartan night all around.

BHS played at home twice this week before commencing a three-game away streak. They will next play at home at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22 against Mercer Island, who they previously bested on Sept. 19.
