NK girls lose non-league game

North Kitsap’s girls basketball team lost a close one to Seattle Academy Saturday 50-46.

With the loss, the Vikings fell to 5-2 overall, but are still 3-1 in Olympic League play.

The Bainbridge High School boys basketball team got back on the winning track Friday night, winning easily at North Mason 62-37.

The Spartans improved to 5-5 on the year, 3-3 in league.

North Kitsap’s game against Bremerton was canceled for both the boys and girls.

In girls basketball, Bainbridge won, but Kingston lost Friday night.

The Spartans beat North Mason 46-31, while the Bucs fell to Sequim 60-40.

BI improved to 4-4 on the year, 3-3 in league, while Kingston fell to 3-4 on the season, 2-4 in Olympic League play.

Earlier in the week, Kingston lost to Port Angeles 64-34 in girls basketball Thursday night.

Also, Bainbridge High School lost to Bremerton 57-47 in boys basketball Tuesday night, but the Spartan girls team was able to eke out a win 39-37.

On Jan. 11 North Kitsap is at North Mason, Bainbridge at Olympic and Bremerton at Kingston in girls play.

On Jan. 11, Olympic is at Bainbridge, Kingston at Bremerton and North Mason at North Kitsap in boys play.

In gymnastics, Kingston was at Bainbridge Jan. 7, but results were not reported. The Spartans will travel to North Kitsap Jan. 11.

In boys swimming and diving, Bainbridge will travel to Mercer Island Jan. 11.
