William “Bill” B. Archer

William “Bill” B. Archer, age 80, died Aug. 4 at his home in Allyn, Wash.

He was born May 27, 1922 in Omaha, Neb. to Monty and Faye (Bails) Archer.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, attaining the rank of private first-class.

On Dec. 21, 1948, he married Martha (Reinhardt) Archer in Seattle.

He worked as a commerical fisherman in the Puget Sound area, and served as a tugboat captain with Foss Tug for 35 years.

He enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting and working his with hands, making hammocks out of fish nets in his spare time. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie No. 4226 in Belfair.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Archer, of Bellevue; daughters Linda Faye Archer of Bremerton and Kathy April Hill of Seattle; son William B. Archer, Jr. or Kirkland; three brothers: Ken Archer of Arizona, and Keith Archer and Tom Archer of Victor, Wash.; three grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.

A memorial service will be held at noon Aug. 11 at Allyn Waterfront Park in Allyn, Wash.
