Wilfred J. ‘Bill’ Turcotte

Former Bainbridge resident Wilfred J. “Bill” Turcotte, age 77, died May 14 at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia.

He was born April 27, 1928 in Salem, Mass., to Charles Turcotte Sr. and Eveline (Parent) Turcotte. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in Salem, Ore., and served in the Army for three years. In 1950, he was chosen the “typical American soldier.”

He spent his career as a manufacturer’s representative, working in eight of the western states.

As a result, he and his wife, Anita, lived in many different areas, including Massachusetts, Florida, California, Nevada and Washington.

He enjoyed fine dining and traveling, and when he stopped working, he and his wife continued to visit France as often as possible, visiting many parts of that country and sometimes spending the whole year there.

He is survived by his wife Anita M. (Chaput) Turcotte of Lacey; brother Arthur Turcotte of Salem, Mass.; sister Lina Ouellette of Raymond, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were under the direction of Woodlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery in Lacey.
