Russell Freeman

September 10, 1927 – July 21, 2019

Russell C. Freeman of Poulsbo and longtime resident of Bainbridge Island passed away in his home in the care of his family.

He was born in Prescott, AZ and raised in San Jose, CA. His parents were Frank and Elva (Lundstrom) Freeman. As a young man he served in the US Navy for a short time at the end of WWll. He’s a graduate of Lincoln High School and San Jose State University.

He married Leona (Weaver) in 1951 and together with his young family moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1956 to work for Boeing. He later owned a construction company operating out of Bainbridge Island.

Russell is survived by his wife Leona, his children; Glenn, Craig and Jane, 3 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.

Natural Beauty and especially animal and bird life inspired his artwork. He so appreciated his time with the Poulsbo Art League.

Russell and Leona cherish belonging to the Eagle Harbor Congregational Church and lovely community. He has particularly enjoyed their interesting weekly mens group. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 31st at 2:00pm at the church.
