Longtime island resident Patricia Barbara Allen, age 80, died April 4 at Harrison Hospital of complications from pneumonia.

She was born April 3, 1922 in Cincinnati, Ohio to John Crowder and Florence Crowder George. She graduated from Poly High School in Pasadena, Calif. in 1939.

On Aug. 5, 1943, she married Arnold J. Allen in Buckley, Wash. The couple resided on Bainbridge Island for 34 years.

A homemaker, she also sewed and designed costumes for community organizations like Bainbridge Light Opera. She was a den mother for the Cub Scouts, and a supporter of Bainbridge Arts and Crafts. She also enjoyed cooking, fishing, traveling, and antique collecting, and attended Catholic church.

She is survived by husband Arnold Allen of Silverdale; sons David (Mary) Allen of Poulsbo and Les (Shirley) Allen of Issaquah; and four grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held 2:30 p.m. April 19 in the Crista Shores Linder Room, 1600 NW Crista Shores Lane in Silverdale.
