Ollie P. Lund

Former islander Ollie P. Lund, age 81, of Hoodsport, died March 31 in Port Orchard.
He was born April 18, 1923, in Sioux Falls, S.D., to Thorsten Lund and Mildred Ramsey Lund, and married Louise Christensen on Oct. 10, 1943 in Seabold on Bainbridge Island.
He enjoyed socializing with friends and family and was an active community member on the island for over 40 years.
He was a Boy Scout leader and a member of the Bainbridge Island Saddle Club.
He worked for the Kitsap County Roads Department for 25 years until he retired in 1981.
He is survived by his son, Jay Jon Lund; daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Robert Bystrom; three grandchildren, Steven Bystrom, Kayleen Bystrom and Stephanie McNamar; and four great-grandchildren.
No services are planned by family request. Arrangements are by Rill Chapel’s Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.
