Nancy Marie Falk

Nancy Marie Falk, 53, of Bainbridge Island, died of cancer Jan. 31 at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton.

She was born in Seattle on May 6, 1949, to and spent her whole life on Bainbridge Island. A fourth-generation islander, she was the youngest daughter of Filmore and Betty (Cummings) Falk.

She never married, but instead found fulfillment in hard work, service to her church, knitting, and devotion to animals and the people of the community.

She was active in the Silverdale Grange and their Pomona organization. She was a lifelong member of Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church, and a volunteer for their Logos youth program.

She took pride in her knitting, and her work was always donated to worthy causes or recipients.

She is survived by her mother Betty Falk, sister Cheryl and brothers Jim and Tom, all of Bainbridge Island, and brother Richard of Silverdale; step-brother Vic of Duvall, and step-sister Pam Galloway of Olympia.

Following cremation, a celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 10 at Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church.
