Leo Stanley Williamson

May 26, 1937 – February 7, 2012

      Leo Stanley Williamson passed away February 7, 2012, on Bainbridge Island. He was born in Ferncliff May 26, 1937 and lived most of his life on Bainbridge Island. He graduated from Bainbridge High School in1955 and received an engineering degree from the University of Washington after which he went to work for Chevron in California. He later joined his father and brother in the family business of Williamson Heating, Inc. on the Island.

      Leo enjoyed camping, fishing and boating and was active in Rotary Club and Sportsman Club. He also was active in developing the fishing pond at the Sportsman Club.

      In 1973 he married Laura Soderstrom and became step-dad to Michael, David and Michele Soderstrom. The marriage ended in divorce in 1985.

      In the early 80’s he left Williamson Heating and became self-employed. His latest pet project was developing a small parcel at Head of the Bay for a picnic area. Leo was an active member of New Life Church.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, Louise and Ray Williamson and sister Pauline Atkinson. He is survived by his brother Les Williamson (Judy) of Roslyn, step children, nieces, nephews, cousins, and step grandchildren.

      There will be a memorial service February 18, 2012 at 3 p.m. at Bainbridge First Baptist Church at Madison NE and Hwy 305, Bainbridge Island. Donations can be made at Kitsap Bank for a memorial at Head of the Bay and funeral expenses.
