Second Son of John and Lois Lindsay, brother to John Stephen and Susan Marie.

After meeting Ansel Adams at age 14 (Kurt 14, Ansel was older) he determined that “Photography is the life for me!” Tillicum Jr. High School, 1969, Bob Runyon, Instructor/Mentor.

Graduated from Sammamish High Schoo1, 1973 – took all art and design classes the school had and plus a bunch the school didn’t.

Spent a year at Wazzu staring at wheat fields. He determined in college that “Commercial photography … not so much for me.” Switched major to motion picture production and attended Brooks Institute 1975-79. Continued film studies at UCLA, American Film Institute.

Met Garry Winogrand on the streets of Westwood. He was leaving UCLA campus to hock his movie camera. Garry was photographing women leaving their power lunches. Decided to give photography another try.

Moved back to Seattle. Began working in a commercial photo studio in 1981. 1986 opened Lindsay/Milgate studio with Don Milgate.

Married Lisa Sando in 1994 and Emma Claire was born to them in 1997. They got a boat, too. Moved to Bainbridge Island in 1999, where he enjoyed being a part of the Bainbridge Island Little League. He loved watching his daughter play and was proud of her fast pitch softball team, the Seattle Fast Pitch Club.

Continued to do “real” photography and leaves behind some incredible work.
