Jean Callihan

America’s greatest generation has lost another strong woman. Jean Adair Callihan, born in 1926, passed away at the Madrona House on March 26, 2015.

Up until her final weeks, Jean exuded joy and energy, connecting with dear friends she made on the island. During her 12 years of residing on Bainbridge, she enjoyed staying fit walking and doing water aerobics at the aquatic center.

Jean was active in Bible study and participated in the VIP group, sharing research for the visually impaired.

After the death of her husband, Paul Callihan, to whom she was married for 58 years, she relocated to be closer to family on Bainbridge. She leaves behind daughter Karen Fredrichs and husband, Mark, and grandchildren Jeremy, Erin Fredrichs Parker, Cali and Cheyenne. She has one great-granddaughter, Sydney.

A small memorial will be held in her honor at Madrona House at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 4.
