Helen Josephine Caspar Quistorff

September 22, 1943 – April 20, 2019

Helen Josephine Caspar Quistorff died on April 20th, 2019 at Tacoma General Hospital after suffering a stroke earlier in the year.

Helen was born on September 22, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri to George and Anne Caspar. Helen graduated from Ursuline Academy High School in 1961 and from Mount Saint Scholastica (Kansas) in 1965. After graduating from college, Helen joined the Peace Corps and spent two years in Santiago, Chile. Upon completion of her tour of duty, Helen moved to Seattle where she met her husband, Kirk Quistorff. Helen and Kirk were married in 1974 and later moved to Bainbridge Island where they raised their two children, Anne and Brian. Helen was an active member of the Saint Cecilia parish and the Bainbridge Island community where she helped start science fairs in the elementary schools. Helen worked as a medical technologist at the University of Washington until her retirement in 2005. After retiring, Helen enjoyed traveling and volunteering with the Bainbridge Island Friends of the Library. Helen will be remembered for her love of family, books, the outdoors, and political debate.

Helen is survived by her husband Kirk Quistorff, her two children Brian Quistorff (Callie) and Anne Conklin (Greg), three grandchildren (Heath, Clara and Vivian) and her brothers George and Joe Caspar.
