Helen Adele Wilson

Helen Adele Wilson, 86, died March 21 at her home on Bainbridge Island.
She was born March 25, 1919, in Springfield, Ill., and grew up in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
She married John D. Wilson, of the U.S. Navy. She worked for the Navy in Washington D.C., the Navy Supply Center in Bremerton and the Bangor Naval Sub Base, from which she retired in 1981.
She lived at Port Madison on Bainbridge Island for more than 50 years.
She was active in the Campfire Girls, Boy Scouts, PTA and other organizations. She was a member of the Amelia Hungerford Orthopedic Guild and the Women’s Auxiliary, American Legion Post 172. She was also an active member of Port Madison Lutheran Church.
She was the Bainbridge Island distributor for the Bremerton Sun newspaper from 1960-65.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983.
She is survived by her sister Patricia Annable (Edwin) of Sun City Center, Fla.; children Jim (Helen) of Bloomfield, Ind., John (Randi) of Bainbridge Island, Penelope (David) Magelssen of Lakewood, and Michael (Barbara) of Port Angeles; step-daughter Virginia Severs (Jack) of San Clemente, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. March 26 at Port Madison Lutheran Church on Bainbridge Island. Interment will be at Kane Cemetery.
