Frederick Lorance Brewis

Frederick Lorance Brewis, 85

Frederick Lorance Brewis died Jan. 29, in Seattle.

He was born Aug. 11, 1924, in Regina Saskatchewan.

He served in the Canadian Navy, then married wife Maggie on Sept. 7, 1947.

Fred and Maggie lived in Vancouver while Fred attended UBC, earning his degree in commerce.

They returned to Seattle, and Fred became a U.S. citizen. They raised children Gregory, Barbara and Barry.

Fred enjoyed his career as a library sales representative and was named “Honorary Librarian.”

In 1998 they moved to Bainbridge to live near family. Fred was devoted to his family and cherished his many friends.

Remembered as a sweet and generous man, his final act of giving was to will his body to the UW Medical School.
