Elizabeth Gawlowski passed away on November 27, 2016 from complications of multiple sclerosis. Beth was born on October 17, 1963, in Peoria, Illinois. She was the daughter of John and Ann Mueller.

Beth spent most of her childhood living in Peoria with a brief stop in Tiburon, California. Her favorite years growing up were spent on an Arizona ranch where she was able to enjoy her love of horses and running.

She obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona before graduating from American University Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. in 1988. She practiced law briefly in Phoenix before moving to Bainbridge Island and starting a family. Beth was an accomplished cook, gardener, painter, and devoted wife and mother.

She is survived by her husband, Richard, son Brendan and daughter Katherine, her father John Mueller and his wife Lois, and sisters Amy and Mari. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ann, stepmother Mary Lou Gaskins Mueller and her brother Eric.

Beth will be remembered for her grace, courage, kindness, dry wit and indomitable spirit. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to a charity of your choice. A memorial service is planned for a later date.
