Bonnie Virginia Norrix, 64, died March 11 at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle.
She was a native of Seattle.
She and her husband moved to Bainbridge Island upon their retirement. She pursued her love of gardening and quilting and was an advocate for animal welfare and the environment.
She is survived by her husband, Loy G. Norrix, of Bainbridge Island; son Steven Cordell and his wife, Lisa, of Seattle; siblings Denise Day of Seattle and Mickey Adair of Reno, Nev.; and grandchildren Cole, Adrienne and Paige of Seattle.
A memorial reception will be from 2-5 p.m. May 6 at the family home on Bainbridge Island. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
