WINSLOW HOTEL HEARING: Start of hearing delayed due to large crowd

Bainbridge Island Council Chambers at city hall is at capacity, and organizers of the public hearing on the Winslow Hotel are asking people to give up their seats if they can, and stand, to allow others to sit.

The hearing has been delayed due to capacity issues, and a concern from the fire marshal about crowding.

“The room is at capacity. We can’t leet anyone else in the room,” a city official told the crowd.

The Winslow Hotel hearing was scheduled to start at 10 a.m. but will be delayed until the audience issue is resolved.

The lobby of city hall was also filling with people who wanted to attend the hearing, and officials were allowing those inside council chambers on a temporary basis to sign in on the speakers’ list.
