Clear skies will disappear in time for the weekend as rain returns to Bainbridge Island.

That’s the latest forecast from the National Weather Service in Seattle.

Saturday is expected to see a 40 percent chance of rain before 10 a.m. The day will remain mostly cloudy, with the high temperature cresting 46 degrees.

More rain is forecast for Saturday night, with precipitation likely after 10 p.m. Overnight, it will remain cloudy, with a low around 39, and the chance of rain remains high, at 70 percent.

Sunday, rain resumes on the Rock. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent, and new precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Sunday’s high temperature will stick around 44.

On Sunday night, the island will see more rain, then showers, mainly after 10 p.m. (The chance of precipitation is 90 percent.) The low is expected to drop around 40. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch are possible.

Showers and rain are forecast through Wednesday, with partly sunny skies expected later Wednesday before showers come back around again.
