The vote tally for Bainbridge Island’s two school levies on the Feb. 11 Special Election ballot was updated late Tuesday by the Kitsap County Elections Division.

A total of 91 additional ballots were counted for Proposition 1, the Educational Programs and Operations Levy for the Bainbridge Island School District.

The levy passed with a 76.05 percent “yes” vote. Opposition to the three-year renewal levy was at 23.95 percent.

The actual vote count during Tuesday’s tally was 6,271 for, and 1,975 against.

Proposition 2, the three-year Technology Levy, passed with a 72.24 percent approval vote, according to the latest tally. Opposition was at 27.76 percent.

A total of 8,235 ballots have been counted for Prop. 2, with 5,949 in favor, and 2,286 against the measure.

An additional 90 ballots were counted for Prop. 2 on Tuesday.

Beyond Bainbridge, voters in Bremerton, Central Kitsap and North Kitsap also approved school levies during the Feb. 11 election.

Bainbridge schools received the highest level of support in the county for its levy measures. The Bremerton levy was approved with a 62.8 percent approval from voters; Central Kitsap passed with 57.6 percent; and North Kitsap finished with a 63.9 percent “yes” vote.

A total of 42,339 ballots have been counted so far from Kitsap voters.

The next updated vote tally is planned for Monday, Feb. 24. Elections officials estimate there are approximately 10 ballots on hand to be processed.
