Volunteers sought for committee

Volunteers are needed to serve on the city of Bainbridge Island’s Human Services Funding Advisory Committee.

The committee reviews human services funding proposals and develops a funding recommendation for city council consideration. Committee members will meet September through November to develop recommendations to guide more than $600,000 in city support during 2019 and 2020 to qualified organizations.

The city’s current funding cycle (2017-2018) provided $660,000 in financial support to 11 nonprofit organizations to support human services programs in the community.

Applicants to the committee cannot be employees or officers of any organization which will request or receive city funding for human services. Additionally, applicants cannot be officers of the city or appointed to another city committee, board, or commission, except for specialized committees or task forces of limited duration.

More information about the committee and the online application can be found on the city website. Applications must be submitted no later than 4 p.m. Friday, May 18.
