Two students get BAC scholarships

Bainbridge Arts & Crafts has awarded two college scholarships to graduating seniors who plan on studying art in college.

This year’s awardees are Helen Gu and Emma Lahtinen.

Gu was awarded the Rosalyn Gale Powell Scholarship ($1,000) and Lahtinen will receive the Pauli and George Dennis Scholarship ($1,000).

Gu will be attending the University of Washington while Lahtinen will be a student at Western Washington University.

The work of the two scholarship winners will be on display in the window at Bainbridge Arts & Crafts in downtown Winslow beginning Friday, May 15.

The gallery also announced that is has recently provided art supply grants totaling $2,600 to area schools.
