Tenth person in Washington dies from COVID-19

Kitsap County awaiting test results from six residents

The Kitsap County Health District has announced that six Kitsap County residents have been tested for possible cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The number of tested patients has doubled in the span of a day.

Kitsap health officials said the number of pending tests only include tests submitted to the state public health lab in Shoreline, and noted that the Kitsap Public Health District is not involved in facilitating testing at the University of Washington.

The number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 has also risen.

The Washington State Department of Health said 10 deaths due to COVID-19 have been confirmed.

There are currently 39 cases of novel coronavirus in Washington, with 31 in King County and eight in Snohomish County.

Nine people have died in King County, and one in Snohomish, from COVID-19.
